The best thing about using tea tree oil for warts is that it will help you remove this unsightly lesion in an economical way, painlessly, and without the need for surgical removal.

For the treatment, you will only need to buy tea tree oil in a natural products store and follow these steps:

  1. Clean and dry the area where the wart is located very well. Remember to wash your hands thoroughly to avoid infecting other areas of the skin.
  2. Take a cotton ball and soak it with a sufficient amount of tea tree oil. If you are going to apply it to a sensitive area, we recommend diluting the oil in some water, aloe vera, honey, or jojoba oil in equal parts, to avoid skin irritation. Conversely, if you are using it for a plantar wart, you can apply it concentrated.
  3. Place the cotton ball directly on the wart and secure it with adhesive tape or a bandage.
  4. Leave it on for a few hours or until it dries, and then remove it with plenty of water. Repeat the procedure twice a day until the wart is removed. You will see how the wart progressively decreases in size after 5 days of treatment.

If you feel pain, burning, itching, or see that it is red and swollen, we recommend that you wash the area with plenty of water and see a doctor.

Unlike other essential oils, tea tree oil cannot be ingested as it is toxic. In case of ingestion, go immediately to the doctor as you may experience disorientation, decreased consciousness, and loss of muscle control.

It is important to note that, even though you remove the wart with tea tree oil, it can reappear because you have not treated the main cause, which is HPV (click here if you want to know how to do it).

This essential oil, which stands out for its therapeutic properties, is extracted from the bark and leaves of the Australian tea tree called “Melaleuca alternifolia”.

The main ingredient of tea tree oil is terpinen-4-ol, a compound recognized for its antibacterial, antiviral, and antiseptic power.

Likewise, it acts on the skin, protecting and regenerating the cutaneous tissue. These properties have made tea tree oil a potent natural remedy against warts.

Due to the benefits it offers, it is also used in the treatment of acne, fungi, lice, insect bites, among others. Similarly, it is an active ingredient in the manufacture of hygiene and cosmetic products.

Tea tree oil is known for its antiviral properties, which is why it’s often used in alternative medicine to treat warts.

Apple cider vinegar is also touted as a home remedy for warts. The idea is that the acidic nature of vinegar can help peel away the wart.

So, which of the two is better for treating warts? Well, apple cider vinegar does not have antiviral properties. On the other hand, tea tree oil does have antiviral properties. For this reason, we recommend using tea tree oil as it is better than apple cider vinegar.
