What are the best home remedies?
Eyelid warts can be removed with home remedies, although the treatment may take longer. If what you want is to remove them immediately, the best recommendation is to go to the doctor. They will recommend the most suitable method.
The best home remedies are:
- Dandelion
- Apple cider vinegar
- Garlic
- Lemon-based oil
Before applying any of these home remedies, you should clean the wart area very well with water and soap, so that the chosen product penetrates the wart without problems.
Treatments with these ingredients can help you remove the warts on your eyelids. However, to be effective, you must apply them consistently, several times a day, until the wart falls off by itself.
Never try to cut, burn, or pull off a wart. If the method you’re using does not give you the results you want, consulting with a dermatologist is the best solution.
Dandelion in oil form
For its preparation, the milky liquid extracted from the dandelion stem is usually used. You can find dandelion oil in health food stores.
By applying just one drop of this oil each day on the wart, you will notice that it gradually dries it out.
Apple cider vinegar and its properties
Apple cider vinegar contains acetic acid. Therefore, it acts as a good exfoliant. It also provides antibacterial, antifungal, and antiviral properties.
To remove eyelid warts, mix one part water with two parts apple cider vinegar for application. You cannot use pure vinegar because it can irritate or burn the skin.
Soak a sterile gauze or cotton with the mixture and apply it to the wart. Leave it on overnight and in the morning remove it and clean the area well.
Garlic
To remove warts, extract the juice from a clove of garlic. In this way and through several applications, it eliminates them.
Crush a clove of garlic to obtain a paste that you will mix with a little honey and water. Then apply it to the wart. It’s important to try not to touch the skin surrounding the area with the garlic, to avoid causing irritation or burns.
Cover with a sterile gauze and leave it to act for only 5 minutes so it doesn’t burn. You will need to repeat the procedure several times a day, for several days, until the wart falls off.
Lemon-based oil
Lemon juice is also very effective for the removal of warts. However, pure juice can be a bit strong for your skin. Therefore, it is recommended to apply the oil or balm based on lemon that you can find on the market.
Applying just one drop of the oil on the wart daily causes it to dry out and fall off in a short time.

What other home remedies are effective against warts?
In addition to the ones I’ve mentioned, there are other home remedies you can try with ingredients that you likely have on hand at home…
Baking Soda
It has properties that help with the natural elimination of warts. It’s recommended to apply it mixed with vinegar on the affected area.
Vitamin A
Natural vitamin A, derived from fish liver oil (cod liver oil), helps remove warts and promotes the growth of healthy skin in their place.
A study published in the Virology Journal showed that warts, depending on their size, disappeared after daily application between 70 days and 6 months.
Acetylsalicylic Acid
The well-known aspirin has also been shown to be effective in treating common warts.
A study published in the British Journal of Dermatology demonstrated its usefulness, evident during the first 6 weeks of treatment.
For its application, crush the aspirin and mix it with a little water. The resulting paste is applied directly to the wart.
Tea Tree Oil
It has been successfully used on warts caused by HPV. This product has antioxidant, antifungal, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory effects, as well as an action that prevents the lesion from spreading.
It’s recommended to apply it several times a day on the lesion. Due to its potency, only small amounts are suggested.
It can also cause irritation and swelling in the healthy skin areas surrounding the lesion.
Castor Oil
Its antiviral properties have effectively eliminated warts in periods as short as 4 weeks.
It’s usually mixed with a bit of baking powder to form a lumpy paste, which is then applied to the wart and covered with a bandage or tape.
Duct Tape
A study published in the Dermatologic Therapy journal in 2020 showed effectiveness in wart removal when they were covered with duct tape.
The tape is placed over the wart for a period of 6 days.
After this time, the affected area is soaked in water, filed down, and left uncovered for at least 12 hours.
Then the cycle is repeated as many times as necessary until the wart disappears.
Aloe Vera
Aloe vera has regenerative and healing properties for damaged skin tissue.
For this treatment, apply a small amount of the aloe leaf pulp over the wart and let it act overnight.
This is repeated, as with previous home treatments, as many times as necessary until the lesion disappears.
